Laura’s Choice was selected for the DocEdge International Film Festival in New Zealand, where it won the Best Fearless/Matatoa Festival Category. Cathy and Sam attended the festival and were presented with the award at a glittering awards ceremony on Wed 2nd June at the Wintergarden, Civic in Auckland. They were also presented with the Pounamu or greenstone, highly valued in Maori culture, in a moving, private ceremony.
The film’s international premiere was held on Saturday 5th June at SkyCity Theatre, Auckland followed by a Q&A with renowned New Zealand filmmaker Leanne Pooley.
The film also screens in Wellington on Saturday 19th June.
